Young Feminist Women Leading in Zimbabwe
Empowering Resilience, Leadership, and Mental Health Advocacy
About the program
“Young Feminist Women Leading in Zimbabwe” is a bold and transformative 6-month empowerment initiative led by PHOEBE Centre. It is designed for young women aged 18 to 30 who are passionate about transforming their personal experiences with mental health into leadership, advocacy, and peer support.
In a world where young women’s mental health is often ignored or stigmatized, this program provides a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for healing, learning, and feminist leadership.Through interactive workshops, mentoring, storytelling, and action-based learning, participants will build skills, confidence, and networks to lead change in their schools, churches, communities, and beyond.
Why This Program Matters
In Zimbabwe, thousands of young women face depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional distress often in silence. Many feel unsupported, judged, or invisible.
This program challenges that narrative.
We believe mental health is a leadership issue. When young women heal, organize, and lead, they change their lives and their communities. At PHOEBE Centre, we are building a generation of feminist leaders who turn pain into purpose, and fear into power.
We are looking for passionate, determined, and courageous young women who want to turn their experiences into action.
